Bóymoder Pastry Cream

  1. Separate the 6 egg yolks into a heat-safe bowl
  2. Add the sugar to the egg yolks and whisk until the color lightens up a bit
  3. Sift the cornstarch into the egg yolks and whisk until theres no lumps
  4. Add the vanilla and mix it in
  5. Warm up the milk on medium heat, swirl the pot around occasionally so nothing burns
  6. Once the milk is simmering (but not boiling!), take it off heat
  7. Take about ½ a cup of the milk and slowly drizzle into the yolks while whisking vigorously
  8. Now add the rest of the milk in while whisking
  9. Add the mixture back into the pot and place it back into medium heat
  10. Whisk constantly, after a few minutes it'll start to thicken, once it does, take it off heat and keep whisking for a bit more
  11. Place onto a bowl for it to cool down (and cover with plastic wrap against the cream itself so it doesn't form a skin)
